On Saturday the 21st April, Ray White Sippy Downs took apart in helping raise funds for “Captain Jack”. Our very own Matt O’Grady was the main supporter in this event and helped put together an amazing night at the Mooloolah Valley Country Club. The event was a great success and we managed to raise substantial funds in conjunction with other organizations through the process for the Hislop family. The result of these funds has been the purchase of a van that has made life easier and more comfortable for Jack to be mobile, he also loves the ramp and has to be the one to push the button for it to fold up and down. He will also now be able to take part in an Intensive TheraSuit Therapy process initially developed by NASA but very successful in the treatment for Cerebral Palsy based in NSW.
In total, the community through the course of the event raised $30,600.00.
- $12,000.00 Donated by the Shine for Thomas Foundation
- $10,000.00 Raised on the night of the event & ticket sales
- $4,600.00 Via the Go Fund Me donation page
- $4,000.00 Donated from The Board Meeting Surf Charity
We would like to thank all of the business for their items donated for the auction, it was a big part in making the event a success and the bidding was quite fast and flowing. Our own Michael Stack called the auctions. This was a very humbling process to be involved with and the support that a small community can muster to help a family that deserves it was overwhelming to say the least!

Thank you again and just take a look at the smile on Jack’s face!
